The Restrict Followers module helps organizations
control who can be added as followers on specific Odoo business
documents. Instead of allowing both internal users and external
partners to subscribe to records, administrators can configure
selected models so that only internal users are permitted as
followers.
The module automatically blocks customers, vendors, and other
external contacts from becoming followers while preserving Odoo's
standard messaging and collaboration features. It works seamlessly
with the native Chatter framework and integrates with CRM, Sales,
Projects, Helpdesk, Discuss, Mail, and any chatter-enabled Odoo
model without interrupting existing business workflows.

Configuration & Workflow
Restrict Followers Configuration
Open the Restrict Followers configuration and select the business models where follower restrictions should be enforced. After saving the configuration, only internal users can be added as followers on the selected documents while external partners are automatically excluded.
Open a Sales Order
Once the restriction is enabled, users can continue working with Sales Orders as usual. The chatter follower selection displays only internal users, while customers and other external contacts are automatically hidden from the follower list.
Journal Entries Restriction
The same restriction applies to Journal Entries and Customer Invoices. External customers and vendors cannot be added as followers, ensuring that only internal users participate in confidential accounting communications.
